Parkinson’s Disease. Part 1

Parkinson’s disease is called chronic, actively progressive disease of the Central nervous system, manifesting as muscle rigidity, resting tremor and instability when changing posture (shaking palsy).
For the first time this disease of the brain was described in 1817 by the English physician James Parkinson in an essay On shaking palsy”. Parkinson described his observations of six patients and they were so precise and complete that the disease bears his name.
Suffering from Parkinson’s disease people who suffer from involuntary tremor in different limbs (tremor), rigidity, impaired speech and coordination and experience problems with walking and mobility. Symptoms appear after age 60, although there are known cases of illness, and patients younger than fifty.
Parkinson’s disease is considered a progressive disease, its symptoms worsen over time and eventually it leads to disability and total loss of capacity. However, the disease develops so slowly that after diagnosis, patients for years to lead normal, almost normal life. In addition, unlike other neurological diseases, Parkinson’s is treatable.
The primary symptoms of Parkinson’s disease to notice not just at walking arm stationary, light, speech disorders, tremor of fingers of hands, General malaise and lack of energy, depression and insomnia. Such familiar things as taking a shower, food, require more effort than others and take longer.
Usually the tremor begins with a shake of the hands and fingers, accompanied by the uneven movements of medium and large toes, which is called the syndrome of Catania pills.
