Today on the market of medical equipment there is a new ultrasonic scalpel for fast, safe and accurate cutting of bone and muscle tissue. Development cuts bone structure with minimal loss of viable bone, minimizing the damage to adjacent soft tissues.
Combining the advantages of rotary devices for conducting complex neurosurgeries and traditional hand tools, BoneScalpel is reaching a new level of accuracy and safety of surgical intervention. Now it is possible to change in the operating methods, which were previously limited to security issues attributed to the rotational scalpels. Moreover, even the operations impressively reduced, and now, with the use of ultrasonic scalpel, takes 30-60 minutes.
BoneScalpel bone cuts through successive longitudinal pulses with a frequency of 22.5 kHz. Patented jet channel directs irrigation fluid along the blade, to prevent bone necrosis. Soft tissue, in contrast, was retained because of its flexible structure, absorbing energy pulses as a string. Linear motion blunt tip avoids accidental grazing the soft tissue, eliminating the possibility of rotation and breaks, as often happens with rotary instruments during surgery. Ultrasonic scalpel allows the use of blades with a thickness of only 0.5 mm, simplifying the application of the linear or curved incisions with minimal damage to the bone.
Thus, when using the ultrasonic scalpel, the patient is guaranteed the minimum loss of bone mass, atraumatic soft tissue, no gyroscopic effects, prevention of side effects from the surgery (necrosis of bone or muscle tissue).
